Cast Glass Decorative VesselsJohn's chief interest when creating vessels is to contrast interior and exterior spaces to yield visually unique sculptures. These vessels may be spun, poured or pressed into an array of shapes and forms. The exterior surface takes on the wrinkles and striations of the mold, adding another dimension of texture. The rich colors of the interior surfaces result from applying other elements such as gold or white leaf and copper foil to produce vivid color contrasts.
